When I go in to get my CDL, what all do I need to bring with me?
You will need to make sure to bring your current Class D driver’s license, your social security card (or some other proof of identification), your medical certificate, and the necessary amount of money to pay the fees.

How often do I have to get a physical exam?
In Idaho, it is required for you to renew your medical certificate every two years.

Is it better to renew my CDL before it expires or after?
It is highly recommended that you renew your CDL long before the expiration date. You want to avoid letting your license lapse because it is illegal to drive without a valid, current Idaho CDL. If you have a HazMat endorsement, you will be required to renew that (in person) every time you renew your CDL.
